What's not to like Amazing period.... incredible value

These speakers are quality. At first I only bought the THX 365 T and 365C thinking my current rear atmos speakers would be sufficient. I was so blown away by the 365 T and 365 C that I ordered these a week later.I've been looking at the monolith speakers and magazine and web reviews for about a year and when black Friday came around I took the plunge.Running this 5.1.4 system with a pioneer Elite VSX- LX503 AVR I couldn't be more happy. The other system I was considering would've cost me 30% more for a front LR and center without the atoms speakers on the front LR. Paired with the 365T and 365C this is a incredible sounding system that is a extremely high valve even at the regular price, the black Friday deal made it a no brainer.Thank you monoprice. Please continue making the excellent monolith products. If I could afford to I would replace the rest of my system with your great processor and amps.Maybe one of these days.

At this price, slap yourself if you haven't already bought them!

Ahhh no, the little guys haven?t gotten any love yet? I actually wish they had, as I think most people would rate these as a 5 star product, and I hate to bring the rating down with a measly 4. Honestly, I feel like they should be more like 4.5 than a 4. I also want to caveat that I?m rating these vs. the other THX Monolith speakers and subwoofers which are rated at THX Ultra rather than Select (which is the rating for these speakers). And, my room is not ?ǣSelect?ǥ sized?it?s Ultra sized. Furthermore, all of those other speakers have an additional woofer and a midrange speaker. As such, there?s going to be a bit of a difference here. Here are my gripes: (a) I missed the huge sale going on now (price match policy is 7 days and I was just outside that window), and (b) there is a tonal difference vs. the mini towers. That?s it. In my setup, the ideal location for my surrounds is at a stud, so I was able to mount the big boy mini towers. For the rear surrounds I only had drywall that I could secure my mounts to. Though I have fancy drywall fasteners rated for ridiculous amounts of weight, I?m still skeptical and these weigh quite a bit less than the mini towers. Plus, your rear surround doesn?t (generally speaking) get the same level of use or the same types of sounds as your other speakers?so they can be a bit mismatched vs. the rest of the system. With those considerations in mind, I went with these for the rears. As mentioned there?s a physical difference here in that it?s a 2 way rather than a 3 way speaker design?these actually have 2 fewer speakers than the mini towers. When calibrating my speakers the sound was pretty much identical around my room until you got to these, and they sounded (as expected) just a little less full. But, that?s just when you?re sending the exact signal to all speakers (i.e. calibrating or stereo mode). For how I?m using them you?d never hear a difference. Clear? Check. Loud? Check. Rich? Check. All other subjective terms that I can make up? Check. I wouldn?t hesitate to build an entire system off of these. Because of their size, you really could, and--assuming you?re not in a really big room?they will knock your socks off. In the right sized room, one of the THX center channels, 4 of these, and a 10?ǥ or 12?ǥ Monolith sub and you?d have an amazing 5.1 system (not even considering the extra Dolby speakers up top?is that 5.1.4 at that point?). And, all of that could be had for under $2,000. Can you even buy a single THX speaker from another brand at that price? That said, I didn?t catch the amazing sale, and so I paid about $75 each more than they?re listed now (which was $25 less than what I paid for the center channels). For me, not yet utilizing Dolby in my room (and thus the additional speaker up top isn?t yet providing me value), that?s too close in price to the center channel for the difference in performance. Let?s be clear though, that?s not to say that these speakers are not worth what I paid for them and then some. It?s just an oddity resulting from a company pumping out amazing products at unbelievable prices, and not catching the sale!
